Budget to Mid-range Places to Stay in Cebu City

I now understand why “staycations” are a thing. It is having the best of vacation plus just staying inside. I used to not get the concept but I love it now especially maybe because stress at work can sometimes take the better of me, and all I want is to do nothing — just lay in bed all day, watching Stylist Inc. (I enjoyed the show so much!). Here’s my list of budget to mid-range (up to 3-star) places to stay in Cebu City.

  1. Wellcome Hotel, near Business Park
  2. The Padgetts Place, back of UP Cebu High School
  3. Spianada Condominuins, near USC North
  4. Paragon Suites, near Provincial Capitol

Where to Stay in Chiang Mai: Baan Ploy-in via AirBnB

Chiang Mai is a city bursting with tourists (but not in an overrated way). The city does its tourism management so well that, despite knowing there are many tourists, it did not feel crowded at all. Travel Guide to Melaka: The Red Multi-Cultural City

It was a short and sweet overnight visit to Melaka (Malacca), the UNESCO World Heritage town in Malaysia. Melaka is not the Moluccas Magellan was looking for but Melaka was an important port that allowed Western colonization to flourish in Asia.

Old Quarter and Where to Stay in Hanoi

From many guide books/blogs, I always read about the 36 Streets of Hanoi, which make up the Old Quarter. Every day, for eight days, we walked the Old Quarter, from east to west, north to south, and we almost did not walk on the same street ever. I was counting up to 36 streets, and I was ready to conclude that the guide books are lying. There are no 36 streets. The Old Quarter is a maze and there are a hundred streets! Where to Stay in Melaka: Layang-Layang Guesthouse via AirBnB

Layang-layang Guesthouse was one of the many gems I found in Melaka. This was my first time to book with AirBnB, and my first time was great! The search in AirBnB started when I could not find a good hotel in the city that was within our budget, which was P500 to P600 per night per person. I settled with Layang-layang among the numerous options because I liked their photographs in the AirBnB web site. Continue reading “Where to Stay in Melaka: Layang-Layang Guesthouse via AirBnB”
