It was a short and sweet overnight visit to Melaka (Malacca), the UNESCO World Heritage town in Malaysia. Visiting for one day does not make me an authority to write a travel guide to Melaka but here I am. Elementary history lessons in the Philippines teach children the travel of Ferdinand Magellan and the Western world’s quest for the Moluccas or the Spice Islands. Ola Lavanderia Cafe, Melaka
The last meal we ate in Melaka was breakfast, and we went to Ola Lavanderia Cafe. It was a logical choice because it was located just across our guesthouse, and it was the only eatery open at 8AM. But, unfortunately, Melaka, as a city, was a sight to behold and I was just mesmerized by it all that I forgot about the list. My sister, however, already requested months before our travel date that we eat at Nando’s, so I placed that at the top of our must-dos in Melaka. Anyhow, despite the absence of tasting real Melakan food, I think we had a great time in the wonderful city in terms of food.
