Davao City Trip with Family, March 2022

I know from the books that Davao is the biggest city in Asia, but that did not really sink in until we traveled to Eden Nature Park, which was more than or almost an hour from my brother-in-law’s house. Exploring such a big city, I didn’t know if we could cover that much places, but maybe because my BIL who was driving knew his place, there were not much traffic and we did cover a lot of places.

  1. Day 1, Friday – Burial of Mother’s cousin
    1. Roxas Night Market
  2. Day 2 – Eden Nature Park, Jack’s Ridges
    1. Durian coffee at Karlo’s Gourmet and Coffee
    2. Old-school snacks at Cecil’s
    3. Meeting family and checking out cousin’s restaurant, Mixed Temptations
  3. Day 3 – Malagos Chocolate Farm
  4. Day 4 – Nephew’s birthday, downtown stroll
    1. Art at Poblacion Central Market
    2. Back at Cecil’s and strolling downtown Davao City

Lake Sebu, the Land of Dreamweavers

Before the fusion of local weaves and modern design became a trend, my uncle (my mother’s elder brother) has been bringing us t’nalak, the fabric woven by indigenous T’boli tribe of Lake Sebu. Pasalubong Shopping in South Cotabato

My first out of town trip this year was to South Cotabato to attend the wedding of my cousin. I was so excited for this trip because it would be 20 years since I have visited my cousins’ hometown of Banga, South Cotabato. Because we arrived a day earlier, my family graciously toured us around. We are a pasalubong-loving family and the itinerary of “one day South Cotabato tour” centered around the things we would like to bring back to Cebu.
