I once watched David Guison’s old vlog on Yogyakarta (pronounced Jogjakarta). He said the city is more relaxed than Cebu. I’ve lived in Cebu City for 20 years and I will have to agree with him on Cebu being a relaxed city. At least, relaxed in comparison to Manila. So, when we arrived in Jogja, after five days in Borobudur, I already set the expectation of a relaxed, chill vibe.

32 Hours Aboard Vietnam’s Reunification Express

The landscape, tranquil, brought tears to my eyes, and I was on a culinary delight sampling almost everything the hawkers aboard the train offered, including the raw meat sausage called nem nuong, without even asking what it was. I wish I could say I roughed it up and did it the way locals did, in the open air carriage with the fresh hot air blowing through my sticky face, but I was in the airconditioned cabins, sitting like the tourist that I was, no sweat in sight, and actually already writing a draft of this post.

Travel Guide to Sukhothai

During our trip to Thailand, I was determined to visit the two most popular UNESCO World Heritage sites because they were accessible by different modes of transportation. Having already explored Ayutthaya with my siblings and husband, only Sukhothai remains on my to-check out list. After a week exploring Bangkok, on a Saturday morning, my husband and I ate our last breakfast at the Station Cafe, checked out, and took the earliest special express train to Phitsanulok.
