Sentosa Cable Car

I have a genuine fear of heights. But many times in my life I have proven to myself (always accidentally) that there is no fear I cannot conquer. When the cable car was the most requested activity we do for our first time in Singapore, I immediately agreed because I read in the website that the trip is only 5 minutes.

I thought to myself that I can definitely handle five minutes of being suspended on air inside a box (which was actually spacious enough for six people). To my horror, my companions took advantage of all the cable car rides, which totalled eight rides in all! The five-minute ride turned out to be the ride from Vivo City to Sentosa, one of the many rides we availed of.

We paid SG$33 (for adults) for the Mount Faber + Sentosa line. This ticket automatically gave us entry to Sentosa Island (which has an entrance fee of SG$4). When we got to Sentosa Island, we realized everything has a price except walking around so that is just what we did. I booked through Klook.com and saved a few pesos. You also do not need to print the voucher, you only need to present your phone for the code.

I was scared the whole time and I felt like crying every time the cable car gets pushed off the platform. But the photography opportunities were GREAT and MANY! The Mount Faber line offered a really nice view of Singapore city scape, the harbor front, the ships anchored from afar. I’m excited to see my husband’s photographs from the cable car. The Sentosa line though, I think, was not worth it because there were not many great photography opportunities. It would have been great to ride the cable car by sunset but we were already tired by that time so we went home early. That will be the first and last time for me though.

The cable cars will lead you to Mt. Faber and Henderson Waves and Fort Siloso, three sites in Singapore away from the maddening tourist crowds.
