Cebu Safari and Adventure Park

I’m not fond of animals, most of the time I am afraid of them. But I don’t hate them. I am a proponent of the leave-them-where-they-are mantra. But I do often want to see animals in real life (instead of just on books and TV) so I often go to zoos. Sadly (or gladly), the Cebu Zoo closed a few years ago and there are no more places in Cebu where people could learn about and see animals. Until the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park opened in Carmen.

Sea and Slopes, Carmen, Cebu: Chilling with In-Laws

Sea and Slopes is a small resort located in Carmen, north Cebu. Carmen is also the town where Cebu Safari is. Sea and Slopes is a favorite place of respite of my in-laws because the place is not touristy, mainly because the beach fronting the resort is not the typical white sand beach in Cebu. It’s a tranquil place, when off season.

Cardinal Coffea

Cardinal Bakeshop is an institution in our neighborhood. Until recently. Their dilapidated commissary and bakery along F. Llamas St. was renovated and was revealed to be no longer a bakery but a computer shop. (Ugh!) So, good-bye to an institution. The good thing though, Cardinal Bakeshop still continues to make the best cheese rolls in Cebu (at least according to Best of Cebu and according to me) and display at their Coffea Shop.

Being Alice at The Chocolate Chamber

One sunny summer afternoon, my husband and I felt like we found ourselves in a rabbit’s hole. We set a date for a date, and we choose to have high tea at The Chocolate Chamber in Mabolo because it is far away from the maddening crowd and we could talk about life. What was an idyllic afternoon summer date turned into a magical date with someone better than my husband and I.
