The city of Talisay (not to be confused with Talisay City in Negros Occidental) borders Cebu City in the south, and is often overshadowed by Cebu City. Talisay is a historic city by its own right and, if you are a Cebuano, is equivalent to the best lechon in the province.

An Afternoon in Silay and Talisay
Last year, my sister and her family and Joel and I went to Bacolod. There was no particular itinerary except to eat good food and probably let Elijah, my four-year old nephew, enjoy. Our trip was Friday to Saturday. That Friday, before The White Hotel allowed us to check in, we went to The Negros Museum and The Negros Forests and Ecological Foundation. The Saturday, we went to the Negros Farmers’ Weekend Market and had nothing to do after. We wanted to go back to the hotel to see if their resident tour car is still available so we could do some sightseeing. So we hailed a taxi.
